Activities
Takaful House, also known as Dar Al Takaful, is a public joint stock company operating in United Arab Emirates and is engaged in the provision of general takaful (Insurance) services, Re takaful (reinsurance) services and investments in accordance with the Islamic Sharia laws and principles.It operates through two segments: 'General Takaful Management' and 'Investment'. The 'General Takaful Management' segment comprises the takaful businesses undertaken by the company on behalf of the participants. The 'Investment' segment is involved in investment and cash management for its own accountand also includes investment in equity and fixed income securities, such as fixed deposits. The 'Takaful' segment offers short term takaful contracts in connection with non-life Takaful, such as motor, marine, fire, engineering, medical and general accident risks.The company was founded in 2008 with a paid up capital of AED 100 million. The company is headquartered in Dubai with various branches are located in Sharjah and Abu Dhabi. Insurance based operations of Dar Al Takaful are Sharia Compliant and are conducted under a distinguished fatwa and sharia supervisory board. The company provides its products to corporate and individual customers. Its associates and affiliates include Mawarid Finance, IFS, Al Jazeera Financial Services and MFI Investments. Total assets of Dar Al Takaful stand north of AED 572 million and its gross premiums have crossed aAED 370 million mark.
