The Saudi Cooperative Reinsurance Company "Re" is a public joint stock company established in 2008 to be the first reinsurance company in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Saudi Re operates entirely in accordance with the cooperative insurance system and is licensed by the Insurance Authority. The company has a credit rating of A- with a stable outlook by Standard & Poor's, which reflects the level of capital adequacy and the excellence of the company's competitive position in addition to the company's success in diversification thanks to expansion in local and global markets. It also has a financial strength rating of A3 with a stable outlook from Moody's, which reflects the company's strong asset quality, capital adequacy and strong financial flexibility, in addition to the company's strong market position and brand. The company is led by a team of experts who's main goal is always the customer's satisfaction. Saudi Reinsurance Company is a company licensed under TMN/20087/17 and subject to the control and supervision of the Insurance Authority. The company aims to build a reinsurance company in the MENA region that is innovative and technically superior and that will become a regional leader. Saudi Re also aspires to increase the effectiveness of its presence and regional impact with the aim of launching internationally in markets with profitable opportunities. Saudi Re's capital is 891 million Saudi riyals (237.6 million US dollars), which is four times the minimum capital requirements in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. In March 2024, Saudi Re announced the appointment of Mr. Ahmed Al-Jabr as the Acting CEO. Being the only homegrown reinsurer, Saudi Re is fully committed towards clients and the market as a whole. Saudi Re enjoys professional relationships with almost all active insurance companies in Saudi Arabia. Saudi Re is exempt from withholding tax which is an advantage when dealing with a domestic reinsurer. Also, the close proximity and specific knowledge in the local risk profile are key factors which make Saudi Re a reinsurer of choice.
