Oman Insurance Company (OIC) is a public share holding company, established in 1975, specializing in general insurance and medical insurance services to clients based in the United Arab Emirates. The company was formed as a financial arm of Mashreq Bank. OIC has about 15 branches spread across UAE, apart from foreign branches in Oman, Qatar and a separate subsidiary in Turkey, by the name of Dubai Starr Sigorta. OIC has more than 450,000 clients insured during its more than 4 decades of operations. Their insurance portfolio offered to businesses and individuals can mainly be categorized into general insurance, health insurance, consumer insurance and life insurance products. Headquartered in Dubai, the company's 'General Insurance' segment offers property, motor, general accident, aviation, and marine risks insurance products. Their'Life Insurance' segment provides participating and non-participating individual life, medical, group life, and personal accident insurance products, as well as investment linked products. The company also offers third party administration, brokerage and call center, and management information technology and transaction processing services. It serves individuals, medium to large industrial & commercial enterprises and energy, marine & construction sectors. OIC has entered into partnerships with leading commercial entities like Bupa, Generali, Coface and Star Health. Since 2003, OIC is the sole administrator of international health plans offered by Bupa. A partnership with Coface in 2014 enabled OIC to offer credit insurance to its corporate clientele in UAE. Pairing up with Star Health resulted in the launch of parent's health and family health products in UAE by OIC.
