Activities

Buruj Cooperative Insurance Company has been working in Saudi Arabia since 1979. At that time the company was a mere agent of Saudi Pearl Insurance Company that was located in Bahrain, which in turn was a subsidiary of Kuwait-based Gulf Insurance Group (GIG). After the launch of new regulations of the Saudi insurance sector, GIG got together with some other business entities to launch a purely Saudi-based insurance company. Buruj was then incorporated in 2009, to formally launch its services to the Saudi clientele. With the help of a paid up capital of SR 130 million, the company was launched in the Saudi stock market. Headquartered in Riyadh, Buruj Coop offers various types of insurance coverage, through distinguished insurance products, such as: motor insurance, property and fire insurance, marine insurance, engineering insurance, fidelity and money insurance, liability insurance and other types of insurance products. The company transacts cooperative insurance operations according to the cooperative insurance regulations, the implementing guidelines of which are issued by the Saudi Arabian Monetary Agency (SAMA).
