Muscat City Desalination Company (MCDC) plays a pivotal role in addressing the water needs of Muscat, the capital city of Oman. With its strategic location in North Ghubrah, MCDC operates the Al Ghubrah Independent Water Project, a Seawater Reverse Osmosis (SWRO) plant.

This facility has a significant contracted capacity of 191,000 cubic meters per day, which is essential for meeting the city's growing demand for potable water. The plant, which has been operational since February 19, 2016, is a testament to Oman's commitment to sustainable water resource management.
