Sahara Petrochemicals Company is a public company, established in July, 2004. Sahara is a petrochemicals firm, mainly involved in the production and marketing of chemicals and petrochemicals. The company conducts its businesses through affiliates and subsidiaries including: Saudi Acrylic Acid Company, Al Waha Petrochemicals Company (Al Waha), Saudi Acrylic Acid Company, Sahara and Maaden Petrochemicals Company, Saudi Acrylic Monomer Company,Saudi Ethylene & Polyethylene Company, Saudi Acrylic Polymer Company and the Butanol Project. The company aims to invest in industrial projects, to produce polypropylene, propylene, ethylene, polyethylene material, and other petrochemical and hydrocarbon products. It also aims to own and execute the required projects to serve its requirements of raw materials and benefits. It has the capacity to produce 467,000 tons of propylene per year in addition to 450,000 tons of polypropylene. Headquartered in Riyadh, the production facilities are located in Al Jubail Industrial City, on the Arabian Gulf coast ofthe kingdom. The company also participates in many joint ventures with local and international partners,for providing modern and contemporary technologies, and well-trained and skilled labors for manufacturing high value and competent products,which are also consistent with international export requirements.
