Activities

Oman Cement Co. (SAOG) was established in 1978 as part of Oman's efforts for self-reliance in core industries. The Rusayl Cement plant was completed in 1983 with an annual integrated cement production capacity of 624,000 tons of Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC) and Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC). In 1999, the clinkering capacity expanded to a total of 1.2 million MTs per annum. The second production line came on stream in mid-1998. Oman Cement Company has been recognized for its excellence: It is the only manufacturing company in the country to win His Majesty Trophy for Best Factory ten times. It also received the Sultan Qaboos Award for Industrial Excellence in 2017/2018. OCC is committed to being at the forefront of cement technology, supplying the local market, and exporting Oil Well Cement to other countries. The company is accredited with ISO 9001:2008 for Quality Management Systems (QMS), ISO 14001:2004 for Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and API quality Monogram certification. Oman Cement Company produces various types of cement: Ordinary Portland Cement (OPC), Moderate Sulphate Resistant Cement (MSRC), Sulphate Resistant Cement (SRC), Oil Well Cement Class G Grade (OWC G), and Oil Well Cement Class A (OWC A).
