stc group, a leading digital enabler, has teamed up with Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. to deliver the first-ever Service-Driven Intelligent Optimization Platform in the Central Region of Saudi Arabia, marking a significant milestone in the company's AI and self-optimizing network (SON) capabilities.
The advanced platform, which covers the cities of Buraidah, Unaizah, Ar raas, Hail and Zulfi, enables automated service-based optimization of voice and data services by directly targeting the customer experience across stc's mobile network infrastructure.
This achievement reinforces stc's commitment to leveraging next-generation technologies and delivering world-class digital services to its customers.
Powered by AI, the service-based SON enhances voice call quality, ensures faster 4G and 5G data speeds and automatically restores connectivity for users impacted by network outages. In addition, it significantly strengthens operational efficiency, reduces downtime, and improves overall network resilience.
Speaking on the milestone, stc group Chief Technology Officer Eng. Haitham AlFaraj highlighted the importance of the service experience driven autonomous network in stc's broader digital transformation journey: "the activation of advanced SON capabilities represents a major leap in how we optimize and manage our networks and customer experience. With this innovation, our customers in the Central Region will enjoy more reliable connectivity, faster data speeds, and superior voice quality. It also furthers stc's role as a world-leading operator that adopts AI and automation to build future-ready, intelligent networks."
Huawei Carrier Global D&S Dept, President Mr. Austin You, emphasized Huawei's commitment to empowering operators with intelligent network capabilities: "We are proud to collaborate with stc group on this landmark achievement. The deployment of the Service-Driven Intelligent Optimization Platform demonstrates the power of AI-driven innovation in shaping the networks of the future. By integrating automation and intelligence at the core, we are partnering with stc to deliver unmatched customer experiences, enhanced efficiency, and robust network resilience."
This initiative is aligned with stc's long-term strategy to enable smart cities, advance digital healthcare, support Industry 4.0 applications, and drive the Kingdom's rapidly expanding digital economy.
By integrating AI and automation into its network operations, stc continues to reinforce its role as a digital enabler, providing seamless and resilient connectivity experiences for millions of subscribers.
