Activities
Dhofar Generating Co. (DGC) is based in Salalah, Oman. DGC owns and operates the Salalah II Independent Power Producer (IPP) project. The project consists of two power generation plants: 1). The Original Plant, which began commercial operations in 2003, has a contracted capacity of 273 MW. 2). The New Plant, developed by DGC, with a capacity of 445 MW and commenced commercial operations on January 1, 2018. The total contracted power capacity of both plants is approximately 718 MW. The plants are located in Raysut, Dhofar Governorate, Sultanate of Oman. DGC generates revenues through a 15-year Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Oman Power and Water Procurement Company SAOC (OPWP), maturing on January 1, 2033. Dhofar Generating Co. was registered as a closely held joint stock company (SAOC) in the Sultanate of Oman on 28 February 2001 under the Commercial Companies Law in Oman. Subsequently, the Company was converted to a Public Joint Stock Company (SAOG) and was listed on the Muscat Securities Market on 5 September 2018.
