Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) has announced that it has successfully completed the issuance of a $2.4 billion US dollar-denominated senior unsecured sukuk, split across three tranches with maturities of three, six and 10 years.

It was issued under the company's international sukuk programme and offered to eligible investors in Saudi Arabia and overseas, said SEC in its filing to Saudi bourse Tadawul.

The sukuk will be listed on the London Stock Exchange's international securities market.

The three-year tranche totalled $500 million and carries a fixed annual return of 4.31%, while the six-year tranche raised $700 million at 4.518%. The 10-year tranche amounted to $1.2 billion with a return of 5.065%.

They were sold outside the United States to non-US investors under Regulation S of the US Securities Act, it added.
