The MSX index closed at 4,622.26 points, up by 0.43% from previous close. The Sharia Index ended up by 0.02% at 449.11 points. Financial Corporation, up 6.67%, was the top gainer while, Global Financial Investments, down 8.50%, was the top loser. Shares of OQBI were the most active in terms of number of shares traded as well as in terms of turnover.
A total number of 1,843 trades were executed during the day's trading session, generating turnover of OMR10.3 million, with more than 66.4 million shares changing hands. Out of 63 traded securities, 21 advanced, 22 declined, and 20 remained unchanged. At the session close, domestic investors were net buyers for OMR957,000 while GCC & Arab investors were net sellers for OMR905,000, followed by foreign investors for OMR52,000 worth of shares.
Financial Index closed at 8,010.02 points, down 0.37%. Prices of Financial Corporation, Al Omaniya Financial Services, Al Madina Investments, National Bank Oman, DIDIC were up by 6.67%, 5.47%, 4.44%, 1.67%, 1.40% respectively. Prices of Global Financial Investments, Al Anwar Investment, Takaful Oman, Al Sharqia Investment were down by 8.50%, 2.22%, 2.08%, 1.24% respectively.
Industrial Index closed at 6,825.94 points, up 0.32%. Prices of Muscat Thread Mill, A'Saffa Foods, Al Maha Ceramics, Gulf Mushroom Products, Oman Chlorine were up by 4.24%, 3.37%, 1.29%, 0.91%, 0.83% respectively. Prices of Al Anwar Ceramics, Voltamp Energy, Oman Flour Mills were down by 2.67%, 0.56%, 0.20% respectively.
Services Index was down by 0.15% before closing at 1,712.73 points. Prices of OQ Gas Networks, Al Batinah Power, Al Suwadi Power, Barka Water & Power Company, Muscat Gases were up by 1.99%, 1.27%, 1.27%, 0.96%, 0.88% respectively. Prices of Al Maha Markting, National Gas, Dhofar Generating, Al Jazeera Services, Muscat Desalination were down by 4.64%, 3.53%, 3.28%, 2.13%, 1.43% respectively.
