Al Hassan Engineering Company SAOG, Oman's leading EPC Contractor, has recorded another major achievement with the renewal of certificates of authorisation from the American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) for the use of the "S" and "U" stamps for its production facilities and field sites.
The ASME "S" and "U" certification marks are for the manufacture and Assembly of Power Boilers and Pressure Vessels respectively. AHEC also is qualified for Repairs and Alterations and is authorised to use the "R" SYMBOL in accordance with the provisions of the National Board Inspection Code (NBIC). AHEC is now one of the few companies in Oman to be accredited with these prestigious certifications in addition to the National Board accreditation.
"This is yet another great achievement," explains Peter Hall, CEO of AHEC. He added, "ASME accreditation is extremely challenging to achieve, and now, following the Joint Review by ASME Team of our manufacturing facilities at Ghala, we have ASME and NBIC approved production facilities to serve our clients in Oman and UAE."
Hall elaborated that the ASME accreditation will enable AHEC to produce the whole range of components in-house and thus significantly improve delivery of traditionally long lead time products such as Boilers and Pressure vessels.
In addition to this, the workshop can handle pressure vessels to PD 5500 and Shop fabricated Tanks to API 650, BS EN 14015. The "R" Symbol enables AHEC to handle Repairs, Rerating
and/or Alterations to pressure vessels and other pressure rating items.
Hall credited this achievement to the visionary leadership of Maqbool Ali Salman, MD of Al Hassan Group and complimented the Quality Assurance & Quality Control Department of AHEC for achieving this milestone. He indicated that AHEC has already undertaken the fabrication of surge vessels, air receivers and storage tanks for various applications delivering them well ahead of scheduled time frame.
Hall added, "The addition of "U", "S" and "R" stamps certification will enable AHEC to meet both quality and time requirements set by its clients. This is a very definite sign of our continuing and dedicated commitment to quality."
