Middle East Media (MEM), one of Bahrain's out-of-home media companies, has extended its partnership with Bahrain Airport Company (BAC) by entering into a 6-year contract with the firm. Under the contract, MEM will be the exclusive advertising marketer for Bahrain International Airport (BIA).

MEM has operated the advertising concession for BIA since 2007 and as part of this long-standing relationship, will invest in new state-of-the art displays to enable businesses to communicate and market to a captive, upscale audience and provide a positive travel experience for travellers.

Serving more than 8 million passengers annually, BIA is the capital's global gateway, catering to more than 35 international airlines that connect it to more than 53 destinations.

"BIA is in an exciting phase with the impending expansion and this agreement is another step towards its success as a world-class aviation hub," said Gordon Dewar, CEO, BAC. "We have a deep understanding of MEM's first-rate media products and together, look to help businesses reach the ever-changing marketing mix that is Bahrain and offer the unique canvas of BIA as a backdrop to the world's leading brands," he added.

Through the new partnership, MEM will work with an international design company to broaden its portfolio of media solutions. Fathi Al Mohammad, MD, MEM Group, said, "We are excited to continue our relationship with BAC and look forward to creating a new energy that will complement the world-class facility. The demographic profile of BIA is diverse and we are thrilled to introduce our latest advertising platforms to this audience segment. On behalf of the management team and staff at MEM, I congratulate our Chairman, His Excellency Shaikh Ali Bin Abdulla Bin Hamad Al Khalifa and the Board of Directors, for this partnership."
