Majan College (University College) recently held an orientation programme for new students joining the Foundation Programme. The head of English Language Studies faculty, Dr Maha Kobeil, advised the students on the benefits of studying hard, the importance of taking responsibility for their own learning, abiding by the college's regulations and benefiting from rich learning resources provided by the college.
Members of the Foundation teaching team had the students engaged in various quiz activities, a campus tour, library induction and interactive presentations. The highlights included an information hunt activity which had the students searching all the notice boards in the college for information to fill in their work sheets. The idea behind the activity was to introduce the students to the act and importance of reading notice boards and paying attention to information on notice boards concerning them during their tenure in the college.
