Projects worth more than RO 137 million are currently being implemented in the sectors of water, electricity and wastewater treatment in the Governorate of Dhofar.
The projects are being carried out as part of efforts to bolster the infrastructure and improve the quality of public services in the Governorate.
During 2025, Nama Dhofar Services company is undertaking four projects, which are: the opening of the first phase of the sewage network in the Sahalnoot area (to the tune of RO 45 million); the restoration of Ashoor pumping station; the improvement of water networks in Salalah, Taqah and Mirbat (RO 27 million); and the expansion of the sewage treatment plant (RO 35 million).
The company reported that tangible outcomes of the projects include the realization of 99.7 percent reliability in the water network; the production of more than 22 million cubic meters of treated water (at a standard quality of more than 99 percent); the replacement of 99 percent of traditional meters with smart meters; the introduction of 33 electronic services and the activation of Electronic Billing to improve subscriber experience.
The projects' implementation reflects Dhofar Governorate's commitment to establish an integrated and sustainable service infrastructure in line with the goals of the National Development Plan and Oman Vision 2040.
