Aluminium Bahrain (Alba), the world's largest smelter on one site, has snapped up six major awards from the National Safety Council (NSC) - USA for 2025.

NSC has been America's leading nonprofit Safety advocate, whose mission focusses on eliminating the leading causes of preventable deaths and injuries at work, home, and anywhere else.

The NSC Safety Awards are granted to organisations that meet strict criteria based on the results in their safety performance in accordance with the OSHA requirements in the USA.

Alba's haul includes: Million Work Hours Award, Occupational Excellence Achievement Award, Perfect Record Award, Safety Leadership Award, Significant Improvement Award and Milestone Award.

"Safety is the bedrock of our operations," remarked Alba CEO Ali Al Baqali.

"These six NSC awards are a powerful testament to the dedication and vigilance of our entire workforce. We are not just producing aluminium, we are building a culture where everyone goes home safe every day," he stated.

"And our recent achievement of 31 million safe working hours without LTI proves it," he added.
