VIVA Bahrain has won the region's prestigious 'Pioneer Marketers Award' for Best Comedy Advert, at the concluding awards ceremony of the fifth Saudi Marketing Conference held in Riyadh.

The award-winning campaign - creatively led by Memac Ogilvy Bahrain, leading integrated communications agency - had featured VIVA's fastest 4G network with a comical twist. Screened in Bahrain's cinemas, it reached more than one million viewers and earned this regional accolade for embracing creative marketing communications.

VIVA Bahrain's CEO, Mr. Ulaiyan Al Wetaid, said, "Innovation runs through everything we do. It's a core differentiator at VIVA Bahrain, woven into the fabric of our products and services, how we communicate, everything we do, and which in turn translates into a differentiated customer experience."

He added, "We're honoured to be recognized and are strongly motivated to continue on our path and promote Bahrain as enablers of creativity."

Ghassan Boujacli, the Managing Director of Memac Ogilvy Bahrain, further added, "We're extremely proud of this achievement. As an agency, we believe in delivering effective communications, with a flair of creativity - and this is only possible when a Client and Agency share the same level of understanding and appreciation for creative communications, which is very much the case with VIVA."

The award, created as an independent professional accolade, focuses on the impact of advertising on people's daily lives. It aims to stimulate healthy competition across the region, and identify those who amplify their message, foster engagement and practice creative communications.

Previously in 2017, VIVA Bahrain and Memac Ogilvy & Mather earned three prestigious Bronze Lions at the '64th Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity' in France. This was the first Cannes Lions awarded to any telecom company in the Kingdom, putting Bahrain firmly on the global map of creativity.

VIVA Bahrain and Memac Ogilvy were also recognized at the Effie Mena Awards 2014, with a silver award for their 'Termination' campaign, in "Telecommunications Mobiles & Internet" category.
