Oman Ceramics Company, manufacturers of high quality vitreous China sanitaryware under brand name Wave, has added two more feathers to their cap by obtaining ISO:14001 certificate for their environmental management system and OSHAS:18001 certificate for their occupational health and safety standards.
Having already received the ISO: 9001 quality management system certificate as early as 2008, now Oman Ceramics is the only company in Oman in ceramics industry that has been certified for all the three systems.
In a gala ceremony and a press conference held on Tuesday, Amal Suhail Bahwan, chairperson of Oman Ceramics Company, received the certificates from Venugopal Balakrishnan, director of DAS Certification Services, Mena region, in the presence of distinguished guests, senior officials from the various ministries, consultants and architects, builders and contractors, trade partners, customers and the members of the media.
DAS Certification Ltd. is a leading global provider of management systems assessment and certification services.
Receiving the certificates, Amal Bahwan said, "I congratulate Oman Ceramics for achieving these fantastic milestones. Sustainable environment management and occupational health and safety standards in any manufacturing activity are very important management responsibilities. I am glad Oman Ceramics has proactively worked and achieved these goals to become the first company in the Ceramics Industry of Oman."
"Our high concern for the environment and for the safety and well-being of our employees led us to go for ISO: 14001 and OSHAS: 18001 certifications. Our focus on customers in terms of product quality, product performance, reliability and after sales service has helped us to achieve the various milestones. At Oman Ceramics, we have a penchant for best management practices and following international standards as our products are not only sold in Oman but also exported to several countries across the globe. These certifications reassure our local and international customers of our quality and manufacturing standards," noted Vish Natrajan, chief executive officer of Oman Ceramics.
