Mannai Corp held its Extraordinary General Assembly Meeting yesterday at Intercontinental Hotel, Al Wajba Ballroom.

The meeting, chaired by Sheikh Suhaim bin Abdulla al-Thani, vice chairman, in the presence of Ministry of Economy & Commerce officials, and external auditors of the company, KPMG, approved the board's proposals to update the Articles of Association (AoA) of the company in line with the provisions of the Governance Code for Companies & Legal Entities listed on the main market recently passed by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority. The chairman's statement before the assembly stated, "The board of directors has always appreciated the importance of the principles of corporate governance and recognised the importance of their application, even before the issuance of the code".

"Accommodating these provisions from the Corporate Governance Code for Companies and Legal Entities listed in the main market in our Articles of Association will contribute to the advancement of the corporate governance culture in the company and will further enhance our corporate governance practices," the statement added.
