Dubai National Insurance and Reinsurance's (DNIR) full-year net profits for 2017 rose 9 per cent to Dh50.07 million, the company said in a statement.
Gross written premiums were up 24 per cent to Dh343.5 million, with net underwriting income up 18 per cent to Dh45 million, the firm told shareholders at its AGM on Wednesday.
Board chairman Khalaf Ahmad Al Habtoor said 2017 had been a milestone year for the firm. "DNIR strengthened the identification and quantification of key risks and imposed greater controls in order to mitigate and reduce the potential impact on our earnings and capitalisation," he added.
