Premiere U.S. Gulf crude Light Louisiana Sweet has slumped to a rare discount versus Europe's Brent, a shift that suggests strength in the North Sea market is driving a blow-out in the Brent/WTI spread.

Light Louisiana Sweet, a waterborne U.S. crude priced against West Texas Intermediate crude futures but with Brent-like physical qualities, was now lower in price than Brent, despite differentials holding near a record $19 a barrel, traders said.
