Bahrain Airport Services (BAS), the leading aviation service provider in Bahrain, has announced the launch of the second edition of "Take-Off", its summer youth program designed for high school students.

The initiative aims to familiarise students with the aviation ecosystem and deepen their understanding of the diverse fields within ground handling operations.

As part of BAS's long-term strategy to invest in the potential of Bahraini youth, the program offers participants an immersive and educational experience with an in-depth look at the operational processes at Bahrain International Airport, where BAS serves as the primary ground services provider.

The two-week programme, which runs until July 31, features a lineup of interactive tours and practical workshops.

Under the guidance of specialised team members from BAS, the students will also gain first-hand exposure to key departments, including passenger services, ramp operations, catering, cargo, and other strategic units that form the operational backbone of the airport.

On the programme, Hana Abdul Wahed, Chief Human Capital Officer, said: "The Take-Off reflects our continued commitment to nurturing driven and curious young individuals by offering them the chance to explore future career paths in the aviation sector."

"These initiatives form a vital bridge between academic learning and real-world experience, helping young talents build a solid foundation for informed career choices," she stated.

Participants will also have the opportunity to engage with industry professionals, observe operational models in action, and gain insight into the day-to-day responsibilities that underpin efficient and safe airport operations.

Upon completion, students will be awarded a certificate of participation from BAS in recognition of their dedication and active engagement, she added.
