In 2012, the crude steel and finished steel outputs of Gansu Province based Chinese steelmaker Jiuquan Iron and Steel Co., Ltd both exceeded 10 million tonne, while the company's annual sales revenue reached CNY 101.5 billion (USD 16.4 billion), up 20.3% year on year and exceeding CNY 100 billion for the first time, as reported by China Metallurgical News.

Additionally, in the given year JISCO's total industrial output value was CNY 77.5 billion (USD 12.5 billion), up 19.27% YoY. Furthermore, JISCO's net profit in 2012 amounted to CNY 810 million (USD 130.6 million), while many domestic steel enterprises reported losses for the year.
